Lightning Arrester & Earthing

The Lightening Arrester: Every high-rise building shall have a lightening arrester as a safety measure. The developer did not provide lightening arrester. The AOH often experiences thunders and lightening during monsoon season and cyclone/depression weather. Once lightening hit D Block terrace arch and damaged partially. Hence, a lightening arrester with a capacity sufficient to cover AOH compound was arranged at a cost of Rs 1.75 lakh.

Earthing of all Blocks: The earthing arrangements in AOH were initially arranged with MS strips and GI pipes. These strips and pipes were worn out and started giving troubles to the equipments in flats. Since this earthing is an essential safety measure, All the earth pits in cellar were dug, replaced the worn-out pipes and strips with copper strips and GI pipes of durable make and all the earth pits were filled with necessary materials like char coal and salt to ensure safety.
